My daughters love to come to work with me, they enjoy the environment and helping out. They have come with me at times when I am called in to work on issues and they will stay in my office and read or write. They like to see where I work and who I work with and I love to share this part of my life with them.
I remember as a child going to work with my Dad, my Dad worked in the family business his Dad (my Grandfather) started. It was nice going to work and being part of what my family did, I learned a lot during that time and experience so many different aspects of work. I had to load stock, do labor work and as I grew I also learned to help with book keeping and sales.
I am a computer programmer, I develop software solutions and manage a staff of developers. I worked hard to get where I am and continue to work hard every day to take care of my family and help their dreams come true.

My girls ask about this day all year long and know that they can’t miss a lot of school if they want to participate in this event. I will take the girls for the first half of the day and they will bring some devices, a book and some school work to keep them occupied at times. I will have them help me organize paper work and they love to “deliver” things to others in the office.
Designed to be more than a career day, the Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work® program goes beyond the average “shadow” an adult. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life, and providing them an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps toward their end goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success. Each year, we develop new interactive activities and partnerships that will assist us in taking girls and boys to the future they dream of.
